Staying Ahead of the Curve As It Zigs & Zags

Staying Ahead of the Curve (Even When It Zigs & Zags)

Digital marketing is an industry that never sleeps. It intersects pop culture, technology, branding, PR, social media, customer service and design. And, when you are entrusted with an organization’s brand – you need to understand much more than just their positioning or their business model. While we build web sites, online ads, mobile apps and social media campaigns – our work requires us to always be learning about what’s next within our field like geotargeted mobile campaigns, augmented reality sites and emerging technology platforms like HTML5. Our work also allows us to explore what’s next for our customers. That means we’ve got a never-ending learning curve.

So how do you stay ahead? You soak in as much knowledge as possible from as many different sources as possible. From a tweet to a webinar, a documentary to a book, a quote from a milk carton to a slideshare presentation – great information comes in all forms. But that information only becomes phenomenal when it’s shared. That’s one thing we atLargers are very good at.

So let’s share.

Each week, one atLarge team member is going to share a jewel that has helped them rock their career, their thinking or their life. We’re going to call it our “Summer Reading List.”

Up first – atLarge Founder Anand Pallegar. His pick – “Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, And Purpose” from Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh. Anand says this resource more than any other speaks to how culture is brand. And more importantly, how building a brand is key to building a company. Big lessons about how to foster your culture and your future lie in this New York Times Bestseller.

Sound like something your business could use? Share your “jewels” – the books, videos, tweets or images – that have changed your mindset (in or outside of business) right here for a chance to win your copy of Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, And Purpose.”

Let’s have it.
