Information architect

The role of the Information Architect is crucial to the atLarge design and technology teams as this person will lay the foundation upon which design and technology elements are combined to deliver an intriguing and highly functional website. If you are ready to conceive, create and cultivate site usability for highly dynamic sites, then you are ready to join atLarge.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and structurally design content within a site for optimal functionality.
  • Create well planned navigation and layout designs.
  • Develop sitemaps and content maps for each site project.
  • Develop information boards to reflect a visual blueprint of the site.
  • Identify hierarchies for narrow and deep, broad and shallow and sequential information.
  • Organize information within dynamic and complex websites.
  • Research, identify, analyze and derive applicable solutions for issues concerning information architecture of a site.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's level degree.
  • 2 years experience in information architecture or related field.
  • Experience with designing effective navigation, labeling and search systems.
  • Able to balance business goals, user needs and technological constraints.
  • Experience with user-centered design techniques, information design and interface design principles.
  • Strong conceptual design skills and coding experience.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency with JavaScript, DHTML, ActiveX, Vividence, XMS Suite and WebTrends.
  • Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator experience is a plus.
