Video Presentation Brings Ringling College of Art and Design to the Masses with Style
Ringling Roadshow Interactive Video
Ringling College of Art and Design (RCAD) is known for honing artists that redefine industry and business standards. Their students are tapped to work for companies like American Greetings, Cartoon Network, Disney, Electronic Arts, Pixar, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Target Corporation and more.
Challenge
Each spring, Admissions Counselors from Ringling College of Art and Design (RCAD) embark on the Ringling Roadshow-- a national tour to find the next generation of art and design geniuses. Ringling Admissions Counselors travel throughout the U.S. and South America visiting high school art classes and student career days. To help them in their quest, they needed a way to share the spellbinding work of their students while telling the story of what student life was like and how students use their Ringling education to land careers.
Solution
The cornerstone of the multimedia presentation is student artwork--animated films, sculptures, graphic design and paintings. Using motion graphics, we bring student artwork to life while we share a snapshot of the design and art industry. "The presentations go beyond student life and work, they highlight the role creativity is playing in the workplace, how artists and designers are problem solvers and the many career tracks Ringling art and design students have at their fingertips," explained Tracy E. Stephanski, Director of Admissions at Ringling College of Art and Design. A large part of the project was organizing Ringling's offerings and art and design facts into infographics that would appeal to audiences.
Result
Over 10,000 students across 200 high schools have watched the interactive presentation. Tracy said both students and teachers say this is the best presentation they've ever seen. While it hit the cool factor with students, teachers appreciated how it validated art and design skills while giving students a glimpse into opportunities to take their artistic talents to the next level. Tracy added that partnering with atLarge, Inc. allowed Ringling to take a step back from a project they were so close to. As they enter into another school year, Ringling's enrollment rates remain high and its admissions team has a resource they can use to enhance the discussion about art and design with the people who need and love it most.
