Challenge
For nearly two decades, the Newtown CRA operated without a formal brand identity or website, limiting its visibility and ability to connect with the community it served. The organization wanted Newtown residents to better understand who they were, engage in public meetings and redevelopment conversations, and view the CRA as an accessible and valuable community resource.
At the same time, the agency faced the larger challenge of helping shift outdated perceptions of Newtown as dilapidated, unsafe, or overlooked. The Newtown CRA needed a modern communications strategy that could honor the community’s rich history while inspiring confidence in its future.
SOLUTION
The City of Sarasota and the Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency engaged ATLARGE to create a bold new foundation for community visibility and engagement.
Together, these efforts transformed the CRA from a largely unseen government agency into a recognizable and community-facing organization with a growing public presence.
Through an integrated brand, communications, and community engagement strategy, ATLARGE helped the Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency establish a consistent and recognizable public presence for the first time in its history. Ongoing activation across digital channels, community outreach, and public-facing initiatives continues to expand awareness, strengthen resident engagement, and support long-term objectives.
CHANNEL ACTIVATION & DIGITAL MARKETING
Launched & integrated Newtown CRA's first social media and communication channels and enabled ongoing audience activation to reach CRA residents and key audience segments at scale.
WEBSITE & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Developed Newtown CRA’s first-ever website and supporting content system to establish a credible digital presence, communicate key initiatives, and provide residents with accessible, easy-to-navigate community resources.
BRAND IDENTITY & LOGO DEVELOPMENT
Created a modern and flexible visual identity system designed to reflect the character, culture, and forward momentum of the Newtown community while giving the CRA a recognizable public presence.
SIGNATURE EVENT ACTIVATION
Concepted and produced A Taste of Newtown, a large-scale community celebration that introduced the Newtown CRA to residents in a meaningful, highly visible, and community-centered way.
Results
ATLARGE’s work with the Newtown CRA marked a turning point in how the organization engaged with the community it serves. The new brand identity and website were successfully launched and formally adopted by the CRA, creating a professional and approachable public presence for the first time in the organization’s history. And through its new digital channels and first signature event, the CRA found a way to engage regularly and meaningfully with its community members.
Most importantly, the engagement established a foundation for ongoing growth. Following the initial launch, ATLARGE transitioned into a continued marketing partnership with the Newtown CRA focused on expanding reach, increasing engagement, and supporting the long-term vision for Newtown’s future.
